Multiple ladies falling in love with the same person and all are hiding it along the way.. Where have I seen that before? Ichigo100% ofcourse ! :D I really liked that anime though it had a craptastic ending (I had to read the manga before I was finally pleased).

But we mustnt forget: Ichigo 100 has nearly no character development in the anime, its all focussed on leaving the main character alone with one of the girls and them getting caught when something is about to happen. Toradora is all about the characters, leaving Ryuuji and every viewer very confused what to think of every girl. Kushieda just keeps hiding things to prevent Taiga from getting hurt, noone knows what Ami actually wants and Taiga just keeps sticking to Ryuuji. With Ryuujis sense of responsibilty for Taiga, his love for Minorin and his I-dont-know-what for Ami added this is the best slice-of-life-shonen-comedy whatever you called it ive ever seen.

YES it is better than Ichigo 100. But that still is awesome.

@CCY: Well, I just feel like things are being developed in such a way that allows for any of the pairings. I guess this is where my inexperience with anime comes into play, but I don’t see it as a sure bet that we end up with a Ryuuji/Taiga pairing. It just seems like everything else Toradora has done hasn’t been predictable like that, so why would the end be? But then again, I’m basing this on the very little I’ve seen, so maybe I’m just looking too deep into things.

@Nazarielle: Perhaps you’re a bit more optimistic than I am. XD These things tend to end rather predictably, and having Ryuuji confess but fail to Minorin, or have him realize his true feelings for Taiga, would complete the symmetry evident on the Taiga / Kitamura side. We could definitely make cases for Minorin and Ami ends, but I doubt the writers will capitalize on them.

Well, in any case, I’ll be enjoying the show no matter who Ryuuji ends up with; and hopefully there will be secondary shipping (Minorin x Kitamura or something implausible) to keep things entertaining.

@FuyuMaiden: I used it on Twitter once. I think it was originally born in an imageboard somewhere, though.

And yes catch up now. XD It’s more important than you catching up with Haruka’s Secret (seriously).

@The_Observer: Yeah, Ami has some surprising complexity to her, so although she seems like a complete jerk, she’s quite the interesting character, and quite likable.

(not as much as minorin though)

if I had to say Toradora reminded me of anything, it would be last year’s ‘Lovely Complex’- you’ve got the mismatched couple both looking for other people and failing to realise even after everyone else has that really they’re made for each other.

Toradora had me hooked after the first episode. Truthfully, I would have watched it even if it were not as good a show as you have so lengthily exposed. But, that’s just because I’m a fan of the genre, and I make no apologies for it either.

She has no chance whatsoever, but all of us need an Ami-chan in our lives. No matter how ‘obnoxious’ she may be.

Do you read the translated light novels? The latest volume in translation has something about the ’seito kaichou’ scenario….and no, its not one of romance, unfortunately.
