Mega Megane Moé
Hell and Heaven Moéltdown
The Track Two is for commentary on random anime-like substances that may not warrant a post or category all to themselves. This includes such things as visual novels.

1/27/08 – M3 is BACK!

No real post for today because I’ve been typing up new Track Twos, along with formatting posts (had to re-categorize every post by hand, since the categories got nuked somewhere), but just remember…this blog is pretty. Really pretty. Who needs to worry about content like that?
Anyway, check out all the Track Twos, through the category, or by clicking the “Track Two” link at the top, which links to all the other ones. I hope you enjoy both the posts and the summaries; I would like to know if those help a lot of people.
It’s probably because I was going to work on the ef post again today. Hah! This week for sure, the rewatch is almost done.
(Oh, and I bought Ever17 in a RightStuf sale…looking forward to that.)
1/17/08 – Shira Oka Preview Video:
Show ▼
They’ve begun releasing preview videos again; this is the first I can remember in a while; this six minute video shows a bit of the main menu screen where you can select what actions your character takes during the week, whether it be studying, hanging out, or whatnot. It seems very Tokimeki Memorial-ish in nature.
I’ve never played the TokiMemo series so I don’t know how exactly these things work, so I can’t say whether this is a good or bad thing at the moment (I don’t know just how much traditional talking scenes there are), but the program certainly looks shiny so far. It flows professionally, the images have charm, and in the one talking scene shown, the character was nicely animated with both body and mouth animation. Very nice.
Definitely looking forward to seeing more of this game unveiled. I wonder, though, whether this game is more of a light-hearted or serious one, as it would look to be the former, but the forums seem to say a bit otherwise…

It’s been two days since quite possibly the most hectic weekend of my life, and I think I’ve finally shaken off all the sleep deprivation and worn off that tasty mix of adrenaline and insanity, that anime conventions tend to impart upon an otherwise normal person.
As such it’s time to immortalize my first Fanime (do [...]

Day before yesterday I saw a Not Boat,
yesterday an sentimental fic,
and today, you…weird…music video…thing.
I keep trying to be a crazy anime fan. As a guy, I watch magical girl shows, as a realist, I watch ridiculous harems and visual novel adaptations, I fanboy over 2D things more than anything 3D, and I have an adoration [...]

KimiKiss is a simple, down-to-earth, yet very unpredictable romance, featuring two male leads, and a strong female lead as well, and their stories of high school love. Kouichi has admired Yuumi for all his life, and secretly, she has done the same, and so it looks like they will live an idealistic romance together. But [...]
The story of Kaiji is a mentally and emotionally charged one, revolving around the titular character’s quest to escape from a crushing debt inflicted upon him by the yakuza, the Japanese gang. Kaiji, an anti-hero with a dead-end job, is forced to participate in emotionally and physically testing ‘gambles’ against his fellow kind of losers, [...]

Despite all contrary evidence and rumors of OH DEAR GOD WHY traps (as opposed to “Mako-cakes awesome” traps), I’m pushing on with H2O, if only because of the Shana II Theory of ‘Hey, [...]

Minami-ke Okawari is the second season of hit show Minami-ke, featuring a different animation studio but all the same characters. Revolving around the daily life of the three Minami sisters, Minami-ke is a slice-of-life show with a strong sense of comedy, mostly physical and occasionally verbal. Haruka is the oldest of the sisters, and is [...]

Zoku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei is the second season following the pessimistic, depressive teacher Nozomu Itoshiki’s crazed everyday adventures at school, and his encounters with the equally demented characters that inhibit his classroom. Some example include Chiri Kitsu, the OCD perfectionist, Kiri Komori, the shut-in, Meru, the shy flamer, and Kafuka Fuura, the eternal optomist. Nozomu’s [...]

Let me preface this impression by saying that it is really cool that True Tears is in HD-huge size, yet still only 170 MB in size. I enjoyed watching shows like Shana [...]
Clannad is a visual-novel by the famous company Key, turned anime by the famous animators Kyoto Animation. It’s a mix of the same tear-jerking emotion typical of this company and genre, and a large amount of humor that rivals the best comedies, making Clannad a good combination of genres. In this story, we follow nice-guy [...]

Crunched for time on posting today, and these Track Twos have been burning a hole in my hard drive (luckily, only figuratively) ever since Ikimashou went down, so I’ll post up a couple of them here.
