Late as this is...I second the notion that one should go back a watch the rest of Minami-ke Okawari. As unbelievable as it may sound, it got better at about the mid-point of the show...almost getting back to the first season feel (almost...but not quite). Lots of Mako-chan-Touma moments as well.

The only real problem by the end of the season was the misplaced drama they tried to add. Outside of that they got things about right near the middle and to the end of the show. A few misfires and poor timing of the jokes didn't help much.

Third season feels a lot more like the first, thought the artwork is about at manga quality level.

Honey and Clover is definitely worth a watch. Bokura ga Ita, while superficially similar, is... not nearly as good.

As for The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, I'm sure that will sort itself out sooner or later...

You've got to watch Honey and Clover, trust me. My opinion is entirely biased, of course, but it's definitely at the top of my list, and I'd put it right next to 5cm/s when it comes down to "stuff about love you never wanted to think about/admit to". I'll be rewatching it sometime soon, and hopefully I'll be able to think of something interesting to write about rather than just summarizing the whole thing.

I've definitely got to watch CCS as well. I'm not even that much of a magical girl fan, but after hearing everyone (everyone meaning mostly you and DKellis) talk about it, I feel obligated to check it out ;P

"I resolve to learn how to manipulate people to cross-dress."

Funnily enough, the further you go into Okawari (past where you stopped) the more focus they have on Mako-chan, so I don't know if you desire that or not. :P
