Shuffle! 17 – Sia Strike

The further I get into these anime, the less I can really post for summaries in the pre-jump section. Pretty much all I could say about the situation in which Rin and Sia ditch class to go on a date is, em, to put it Haruhi style, classified information.

Here’s an interesting thing though; the episode’s titled True Feelings. But whose? Something that would be very interesting to find out, as the Shuffle! Race for Rin ™ continues, with 2 and a half contestants left in the race.

It’s Sia 2nd turn at the date-o event. She put up good numbers on her first attempt but her scores have quickly been eclipsed and if she doesn’t improve soon she may be eliminated from this competition…let’s take a look at the hidden camera presented by Daidouji&Thyme Incorporated and oh my!

I think we may have to cut the feed on this one. We’ll be right back folks, after the jump! (oh yeah, and spoiler-free (relatively) post; covers through episode 17)

Shuffle! 16 – The Haruhi jokes of Lisianthus

Whose arc is it anyway? Well, we’ve covered Sia’s, Nerine’s, and Rimu’s, so that leaves two characters to go; Kaede and Asa.

Right? Wrong.

We’re not quite going to wind it down that quick, as Sia refuses to be put down as she comes back for Part II.

Of course, if you’ve watched this episode you may vaguely be aware of the face that although it’s Sia’s arc, it’s not really Sia’s arc. WTF am I talking about? Hit the jump to find out. Safe for through Episode 16. (uh, this episode)

Shuffle! 15 – Saving Loli Rimu

*dramatic hand pose*

Ready to be rocked like a – wait, what do you mean I already used that intro?

Alright, so Shuffle! episode 15 doesn’t contain any revolutionary plot twists, but there has been a lot of buildup to it over the last 4 or 5 episodes. Primula’s been taken hostage sent back to the demon realm due to her increasing sickness – which, speaking of, does bear a strange resemblance to the events in the arc of Kanon that is currently being blogged as well.

But, Rin and harem aren’t going to take it anymore! They simply cannot live without the token loli and the fifth harem member – as quiet as she way, I suppose Rimu was always there, and without her the entire group is toppling over; since every one of the girls has some connection to Rimu.

Trust me. 6 degrees to Primula, or less.

Let’s get this recap rolling however…the episode starts off with no intro. This episode is serious business. And not like the internet is serious business. Italics serious business.

After the jump, non-spoilery (unless you haven’t watched this episode for some inane reason) recaps ensue. Showtime!

Shuffle! 14 – when arcs collide

(bonus points if you thought Arcueid.)

The plot’s in full gear for Shuffle!, as we get some interesting revelations about Nerine and her strange connection to Primula…

It seems that Nerine and Primula’s arcs are connected and, with them moving things to conclusion pretty much next episode – rather quick, isn’t it? – that we’ll have plenty of time for the Kaede and Asa arcs, with a little bit of overlap.

But then again, hey, I’ve already finished the series, I should know. I think the pacing was OK overall for the arcs, although I felt that Nerine was a bit shafted in terms of screentime. But, this isn’t Kanon 2002 by any means, where half the episodes were spent on the first girl.

Anyway, spoilers, recaps, whatevers, after the jump, but this recap is safe for those who have watched up to 14 (logically). Go!

Shuffle! Memories 1 – What’s new is old, and what’s old is…old

Mayumi reveals she is actually an angel from heaven. Paradoxes and intense fanboying ensues.

What?! Another series!?

Yes, it’s another anime I’m watching.
Yes, it’s another anime I’m blogging.
Yes, it’s another Shuffle! But not really – it’s mostly a recap series, but I’ve heard there is some minor new content in there.

Still, Shuffle! is Shuffle! and one of the more interesting eroge adaptations comes around for its second shot. Although perhaps a Tick! Tack! or Really? Really! anime adaptation would be interesting – but I don’t per se know the actual stories behind those games. If there are any.

P.S. Dear Navel, stop using punctuation in your game titles.

OK, technically, I haven’t finished blogging the real Shuffle!, but I’ve finished watching it and I think that merits a Memories watch and recap.

The intro is mostly cut and pasted clips – for now anyway – but there are a few new and or important shots. For example, Primula is on the ceiling at the end of the intro. Why? Because. I only wish there was some plot to give away.

Hit the jump for spoilers for the Shuffle anime plus recap. If you’re a purist, stay away.
