I think, if you’ve seen my posts over the last week or two, you know where this is going. So do I. And I ask you, with no regrets:

Vote Yuuko.
And if you’re not convinced, read to the end of this post. It’s not even 800 words. It’s short, and filled with passion, and if you aren’t filled with enthusiasm too by the end of this, you can have your money back. Read the rest of this entry »

At the rate things are going, I don’t think I can have pretenses any more.
Maybe you’ve read my previous post trying to hype Shiori Misaka of Kanon for ISML 2009. I’ve decided to do all I can to help her for one round, and anything I do, I want to do with my whole heart.
And my heart isn’t satisfied yet with the response I’ve gotten, so if you’re tired of my fanboy posts yet, please just bear with me for another 8 hours.
But yeah, if you’re here, you like Kanon. And if you like Kanon, you probably don’t hate Shiori. And if you don’t hate Shiori, you can probably click that link at the top of the page to the International Saimoe League voting arena to help give Shiori a little boost in her chances to meet up with all the other Key characters you probably know and love (if you’re here).
It’s a piece of cake, really. Click the button next to Shiori, pick three other characters, and then you can move on with your day. And you’ll have helped someone who’s gone a bit too crazy for the last 16 hours.
Here’s that imagedump from yesterday, in case you forgot: Read the rest of this entry »

(Hey, if you don’t have the time to read a 1000-word post filled with passion and energy, that’s cool. Just click here to jump to my main message, and it’ll all be good. It’ll make a lot more sense if you read the whole article, but I just need a little favor, real quick. If you want to listen to my story, thank you for that.)

And moe competitions can get you put into a straightjacket and thrown into the corner of an isolated white room with no windows.

As you remember, I was more than non-trivially fervent about J-Saimoe this past fall, and with the kicking into gear of the International Saimoe League over the last few weeks with their preliminary rounds, I’ve got Write a Lot of Overanalytical Stuff Over Mostly Useless Popularity (But Really Moe, Not Poularity) Contests fever all over again.
So much, in fact, that I figure bi-daily coverage of Saimoe-related substance would sort of overwhelm my normal, lethargic (but energy-filled when it counts) blog-posting schedule.
I thought what I’d do was, I’d pretend I’m one of those Saimoe-blogger people.

After more than eleven months of turns and twists in the world’s most elaborate contest, it all comes down to this.
Over a dozen people have fought for the heart of America’s people in grueling match after match, slowly being pared down to just two who will fight to take home the crown of SaiAmerica 2008 … er … president.
You may not think they are the best choices, but in the end a choice still has to be made, and this time it’s between:
John McCain
R Bracket Champion
(def. Huckabee and Romney 1575-278-271)
-VS-
Barack Obama
D Bracket Champion
(def. Clinton and Edwards 2201-1896-6) Read the rest of this entry »
