For me it's still a tough call on whether the show is going to pull one over on us or not; the tone says no but the actions hint at something different. Like Owen says in his trackback though, I might be too focused on the end instead of the means (or the characters), but I have fun trying to guess how things turn out rather than analyzing the bigger picture. I'm struggling to believe that the series is going to simply wind down to its seemingly-settled conclusions myself, although hopefully we won't be seeing any <em>Kaiji</em>-esque moments of self-mutilation.
